Description
PJS Freshwater Tropical Catfish Synodontis Eupterus
It is a long-lived African catfish is identified by its tall, fringed, feather-like dorsal fin, a stocky dark brown body covered in spots, and specialized branched barbels around its mouth and usually maxes out around 8 inches (20 cm) and require a minimum of 40 gallon aquarium with a sandy bottom as not to hurt their barbells. Have plenty of driftwood, rockwork and caves for them to hide in. Generally peaceful with similarly sized or larger community fish. Can show mild territorial behavior toward bottom-dwelling conspecifics or similar shapes if hiding spots are lacking. Can be kept with medium-to-large active community fish like rainbowfish, large tetras, and barbs, as well as semi-aggressive African cichlids. They are opportunistic bottom-feeders.
