Description
Catfish Rapheal Striped
is a highly popular, exceptionally hardy freshwater fish native to the Amazon and Orinoco River basins in South America. Belonging to the Doradidae family of armored catfish, they are widely known as “talking catfish” because they produce a low-frequency croaking or grunting sound by rubbing their pectoral spines together or vibrating their swim bladders when stressed or removed from the water.
