Description
Clownfish Oscellaris
famously known as the inspiration behind Nemo, is a small, bright orange marine fish recognized for its white stripes edged in black and its symbiotic relationship with sea anemones. Bright orange body with three distinct white vertical bars edged in thin black lines. Can live 3 to 6 years in the wild, but often lives 10 years or more in a well-maintained aquarium. They live safely among the stinging tentacles of host sea anemones. A special mucus layer on their skin protects them from the sting. All Ocellaris clownfish are born male. The largest and most dominant fish in a group turns into a female. If that female dies, the dominant male changes into a female to replace her.
