Description

Hawkfish Falco Dwarf Cirrhitichthys Saltwater Reef Fish

also known as the dwarf or red-spotted hawkfish, is a small, hardy saltwater reef fish native to the Indo-Pacific region. Features a whitish body marked with rusty red, brown, or orange vertical bands and spots, along with delicate hair-like tassels (cirri) on the tips of its dorsal spines. Lacks a swim bladder, meaning it spends its time perching motionless on rocks, coral heads, or ledges using thickened lower pectoral fins. They are known as an interesting little saltwater aquarium fish that spends as much time watching you as you spend watching it. They are protogynous hermaphrodites. They live in small harems where the dominant female can rapidly transform into a male if the current male dies
