Dwarf or Pearl Gourami: Peaceful, colorful mid-to-top swimmers. Small Cichlids: Bolivian rams or Apistogramma species. Livebearers: Guppy, platy, or molly. Mystery snails, nerite snails, or bamboo shrimp |
| Avoid Housing With | Mustard Spot Plecos can be territorial or mildly aggressive toward other bottom-dwelling plecos or members of their own species over caves and driftwood. Avoid keeping multiple males together unless you have a very large tank with plenty of visual barriers. Aggressive/Large Cichlids: Big or hyper-aggressive cichlids (like Oscar, Jack Dempsey, or large Flowerhorn) can stress or injure them. Aggressive fin-nippers or large carnivorous catfish can harass the pleco or outcompete it for food. |

Pleco Mustard Spot LDA-031
The Mustard Spot Pleco LDA-031 (Panaqolus albomaculatus,) is a small, wood-eating freshwater catfish prized for its dark charcoal body covered in bright golden-yellow spots. Generally peaceful with community fish, though they can be mildly territorial toward other plecos. Hales from upper Amazon basin headwaters in Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia (such as the Rio Napo, Marañón, and Ucayali rivers). Growing to about 4.9 to 5 inches. Omnivorous with a heavy reliance on submerged driftwood (bogwood) as a core part of its digestion, supplemented by sinking algae wafers, pellets, and occasional protein like bloodworms.
